As an Artbeads.com Design Partner, I had a fun challenge with some pendant frames for summer designs. I have been wanted to use ICE resin for ages, so I finally sat down and toughed it out. I'm glad I did because I was able to present this pretty set to my Mom for her birthday in June.
Why is this post about nostalgia? Because I used a piece of wallpaper from the house I grew up in for the focal. My mom absolutely loved that house and put the wallpaper up herself, so when I came up on a piece of the paper while refinishing an old dresser from the hallway, I knew it would be perfect.
To add a little oomph to the resin, I used a few little embellishments to add some texture. As you can see from a little shot of my workspace from that day, you'll see that I was all over the map with these pendant frames...it was a great experiment! At Artbeads.com you can get all sorts of shapes, sizes, and finishes of pendants for resin or any other filling.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea! I'm sure it will be treasured always. It all works together so well!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea of using the wallpaper from your childhood home! Your mother will truly cherish it.
ReplyDeleteI love the pendant with the wallpaper. How special. I tried putting resin on two colors of satin cording and the resin made the fabric look wet and dark so it kind of obscured the colors. Apparently it doesn't do that with paper.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - I love the pendant and the entire set! You are amazing :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous set. The pendant is a beautiful senitment. I probably would have cried.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet that you used a bit of wallpaper for the focal.
