Big kitty boy, Brando, my one-eyed honey, and I were sitting around this afternoon thinking about new projects. I told him that I really wanted to blog this afternoon. He says, "Why don't you celebrate your big magazine achievements with a giveaway?" Great idea, buddy!
I decided to dig through my stash and go with a green theme because the pieces in Stringing have green influences. I started the bunch below with simple cut aquamarine nuggets, turquoise-colored resin disks, and recycled glass that's featured in those necklaces.
Then, I just started addingfrom the green drawer. Let's see...on the stone side, there's prehnite, turtle turquoise, dyed bright green magnesite, ocean jasper, crazy lace agate, and green garnet and probably some other bits. I threw in some felted beads, recycled glass, vintage glass and Czech glass. On the handmade side, there's a pretty Artisan Clay ceramic link, a recycled bottle ring from Art by the Case, a sparkly glass green bead from Linden Avenue Designs, and a funky recycled glass bead by HMB Studios. Oh, and there are polymer clay pendants that I made, too. :)
I broke everything into two little boxes as the pile got high, so I'll pick two winners.
Help me celebrate having seven pieces published this summer and win some greenie bead nerd goodness!!
All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me what your favorite color is to work with. I always tend towards orange, or I thought so, until I realized how much green I have!
I'll randomly select two names from my commentators, so if you don't have a blog, please leave your address so I can track you down to send you the goods. Plus, if you blog about the giveaway, leave me a comment and I'll give you another shot in the drawing!
I'll draw winners on Sunday, 18 July at noon, so I look forward to hearing from you!
Whoo hoo!!!
Turquoise! regards Stefanie

I cannot lie, it is the green family! If you've ever seen/read my blog showing the loot from bead shows you'd ask yourself if I ever use another colour?! Even when I use turquoise, I like the green tones the best. & congratulations on your magazine success, :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your success with magazine publications. I particularly like the chain necklace in Stringing! Thank you for sharing your success with us, I love the collection of beads you have put together. Hoping I win!

Congrats on your magazine success-that is pretty exciting. My favorite colors to work with are blues and greens but I have noticed lately that I have been putting a touch of black in everything. I'm also on a pearl kick lately.
ReplyDeleteWow - just started following your blog - what a great Green bead giveaway! I have to say I gravitate towards green myself. But yellow and blue come in a close second. Enjoyed seeing your published pieces in the various publications this summer too!
ReplyDeleteThanks again
(no blog - but you can contact me at twiggs@myglnc.com but I'll check back next Sunday too!)
Although some don't consider brown a "colour" as they think it is too drab it is one of my favourite colours to work with... so many wonderful earthy tones. Though if I was to pick a "real" colour as some of my friends say... I'd pick teal green as that is an old time favourite too...as you can see by the piece I created in my profile pic!
ReplyDeleteThanks for offering such a great giveaway! Well done on the magazine front too!
Karyn
Congrats on the publications....you have been a very busy lady! I love working with blues and turquoise.
ReplyDeleteI finally found a copy of Creative Jewelry this weekend and I am in love! It is like all my very best beady friends are in those pages. (Makes me wonder how I missed the boat on that one?) Congratulations! Thanks for your generous giveaway. I have a tendency to work with earthier, darker tones. Like fall colors of wine and plum and russet. I made it my goal this year to work in color and that is working out quite well! Thanks for the constant inspiration, Miss Jen. Enjoy the day!
ReplyDeleteErin
Oh Yeah, I've added your give-away to my Give-Away sidebar on my blog.
ReplyDeleteCenya
Well, as you can tell by the name of my blog (and Etsy site) I like GREEN! it's also my last name (Eichengreen) which means Green Oak in German. I'm a misty, moisy morning type of girl - mushrooms and moss. So on days like today (93 degrees outside) I'm in my studio, beading with Green Beads (to remind me of the cool green forest).
ReplyDeleteCenya
Great give-away! And publishing congratulations too!

I love BLUE and I tend to catch myself incorporating blue into most of my work. Many times I have to restrict myself and make sure that I don't use it, because I recognize that not everyone LIKES blue (even I don't understand how that's possible.) ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic giveaway! And I love green! Green is one of my favorite colours but also blue and lilac/purple.
ReplyDeleteMany greetings,
Nicki
If it's a bead, I love it, no matter what the color!! But, I am partial to purples and blues and greens in all shades. In fact I drive a truck that looks purple in some light and blue in others! Thanks for the chance to win beads!! CJ
